Commission is determined via these steps: 1) Country of origin (US 50 or CA Point of Origin (POO) or International Point of Origin (IPOO)) 2) Outbound (O/B) Origin/Destination (O & D) 3) Inbound (I/B) Origin/Destination (O & D)
Example: ORD-NRT-IAH in C Class 1) POO = US 2) O/B origin = ORD, O/B destination = NRT -->6% 3) I/B origin = NRT, I/B destination = IAH --> 1%

Program is valid on code-share flights (UA/NH) operated by Participating Carriers. Transpacific codeshare flights operated by interline carriers are eligible for 0 commission. Code-share flights marketed by NH or UA and operated by Air Do (HD), IBEX (FW), Oriental Air Bridge (OC), Solaseed Air (6J) or Star Flyer (7G) are permitted only for travel within Japan.
Flight Application - Commission is applicable on Participating Carriers - At least one qualifying Transpacific segment must be marketed and operated by Participating Carriers - Tickets must be validated on a Participating carrier - Validating carrier must be one of the operating or marketing carriers on the ticket - Valid on code-share flights operated by Participating Carriers - Valid for one-way, round-trip, circle-trip and open-jaw journeys - Valid on published fares only (see Eligibility Exceptions) - Qualifying Transpacific segments must be to/from US or Canada to be eligible for incentive - Transpacific codeshare flights operated by OA carriers are eligible for 0 commission
effective March 11, 2026. Updates: For added clarity, wording was added to the Eligibility Exceptions rule related to Child fares: Commission may be claimed on child fares when no discount is applied. Infant fares are NOT eligible for TOT commission.
Eligibility Applies to published international through fares (not valid on trip within a trip). Applies to stopover charges and differential when applicable . Applies to international through fares when combined with sector fares (point-to-point) and the following rules are met: - Must be operated by Participating carriers and Regional carriers - Connecting time must be within 24 hours of International portion of the journey - Valid when booked in or the first letter of the fare basis code is an applicable class - TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR FARE MUST QUALIFY FOR COMMISSION
If sector fares do not meet the parameters above they may be included on the ticket at 0 commission. Time of Ticketing (TOT) may NOT be applied on any segment with net fares, corporate discounts, negotiated group rates, air pass programs, United PassPlus negotiated fares/discounts, senior citizen, emigrant, journalist, military, missionary, student, discount coupons, travel certificates, government fares, crew rotation fares, two-for-one offers and the like or discount programs of any type including fares that price with "/ticket designator" (such as /UAF, /8N02).
Eligibility Exceptions Applicable commission may be claimed on fares using these Ticket Designators : /FLX3/FLEX/PFLX/FL01/DXWW /UPxx (i.e. /UPDI /UPDZ, /UPDP) /AMxx, /AExx, /EMxx, /KYxx, /QYxx, /WEBx, /TMCx, /GMNL (or any variation using these type of Ticket Designators.(i.e. AM09, EM10, KY06, QYFF, WEB3, TMCX)) /QYxx (i.e. QYFF or any type of QYxx) /8Dxx (i.e. 8D02, 8D05 or any type of 8Dxx) and Blueprint Discover, Experience, or Save If booked in or the first letter of the fare basis code is an applicable class and rules below are met:
RULES - Fare must auto price (debit memos will be issued for manually priced tickets) - The valid tour code must appear on the applicable segments - Include the valid tour code in the tour code box - 8Dxx, AMxx, EMxx, GMNL, KYxx, QYxx, TMCxx and WEBx fares must be validated on UA (016) or NH (205) - UPxx fares must be validated on UA (016)
Combinations When combining qualifying incentive rates for the outbound (O/B) and return segments (I/B), on each US/ CA to JV Pacific segment will apply with respect to the point of origin (POO) of the trip. Example 1: DEN-SGN (C)6% commission // SGN-DEN (O)3% commission (travel originates in DEN) - When utilizing qualifying sector fares in a trip, the applicable commission on each segment will apply - This is a one-way true origin and destination flight segment - THE US/CA TO PACIFIC SECTOR FARE MUST QUALIFY FOR COMMISSION. Example 2: PVD-IAD (C)6% commission // (connects within 24 hrs) IAD-NRT (C)6% commission (true O&D PVD-NRT) Example 3: IAH-SFO (S) 0 commission // (connects within 24 hrs) SFO-NRT-HKG (Y)3% (true O&D IAH-HKG) Example 4: MSP-ORD (S) 0 commission // (connects within 24hrs) ORD-NRT (C)6% commission (true O&D MSP-NRT) Example 5: IAH-HND-ITM-NRT-IAH (2 options for fare break) 5a. IAH-HND (Z) 1% commission // (fare break and connects with more than 24hrs) ITM (stopover) HND-IAH (C through fare ITM to IAH)6% commission (true O&D IAH-HND and HND-ITM-IAH) 5b. IAH-HND (Y)3% commission // (fare break and connects within 24hrs) ITM (C)6% commission (sector fare)
ITM-HND-IAH (C) through fare ITM to IAH6% commission (true O&D IAH-ITM and ITM-IAH) - Non-qualifying segments (OAL, ineligible or non-qualifying classes) are permitted on ticket at 0 commission. - This program may be combined with Pacific TOT programs provided all rules apply . - Please note: you must have both contracts to use this combination and ticket must be issued on UA (016). - Combining TMC Fares programs and Time-of-Ticketing programs is not allowed. - All other published fare rules apply.
Conditions This Time of Ticketing (TOT) commission program, for plating carrier UA 016, can be applied to both Edifact and NDC-enabled channels. However, the following condition applies to tickets booked via NDC: - When combining classes/rates, the most restrictive TOT commission will apply to the entire ticket . - Class will be determined by the first letter of the FBC.
Ticketing Procedures Plating carriers: NH (205) or UA (016) REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES Ticketing agency is responsible to recalculate commission when tickets are exchanged or refunded . Failure to recalculate commission will result in debit memos to the ticketing agency location. Applicable code must be placed in their appropriate locations. IATA ticketing rules apply. Failure to enter the applicable tour code, ticket designator, or incorrect ticketing will result in the issuance of debit memos to the ticketing agency location. Place the tour code or ticket designator in one of the following positions: - Ticket Designator - Tour Code box - Endorsement Box
